Calendar
Using all of this information requires a bit of organization, so follow these general instructions. For SOC 201, general topics are listed first, followed by reading assignment in Ferris/Stein and then the written assignment. For each week, begin by reading assigned work from the Sociology hard text (Ferris/Stein).
The English 101, the stories themselves, listed by title and author, are online. A Google search with title and the word TEXT will find the story if the provided link does not work. There will be rhetoric from englit.org. You are then to download the chosen web site for that week, listed as a link on the syllabus at the site English I-Net Resource List. That means all you have to do is click on the colored (usually blue) link of the name or address of the site. Following that, read the online presentation of the format strategy for the week, (Org & Outline, Quoting Your Sources, How To Take A Test, etc.). You are also required to read the thematic presentation for that week in Online Presentations (Character, Theme, Irony etc.). This will allow you to follow the schedule and be topical in the class room. Any assignment or topic not linked to a website or associated with the text book is on englit.org. Read the directions.
Assignments and due dates for papers and tests for SOC 201 are posted on the Discussion Board and announced in class for ENGL 101. Most of this syllabus is self-explanatory.
