SUBJECT WORKS WILL BE CHOSEN FROM A LIST IN WEEK 1. You will develop a complex research paper on that topic for the semester. The two drafts will be called Paper 1 and Final Paper.
ASPECTS REQUIRED OF EACH PAPER
- Double space
- Use legible 10-12 point font (Arial, Verdana)...no italicized or script fonts
- You must use quoted text from primary source (the work under analysis) in every body paragraph in each work you produce in this class
- You must also use secondary sources, directly quoted, in each body paragraph of all works you produce in this class

PAPER 1
- Analyze the work you have chosen, using 2 critical perspectives, either biographical, historical, gender, cultural, feminist or Marxist. Choose what's approriate for your primary source, based on your research.
- One primary source
- Several secondary sources
- 3-5 pages
- Works cited page
FINAL PAPER
- Elaborate on the work from paper 1, ADDING more critical perspectives for a total of no less than 4 critical perspectives, the two original critical perspectives included.
- 5 to 7 secondary sources
- 8-12 pages of text
- Works Cited page
